I can't seem to be able to get comfortable in a mummy bag with my legs so close together to be able to sleep well. Does anyone make a decent rectangular sleeping bag that isn't overly heavy? I'd prefer synthetic insulation as well.

Check out Big Agnes or quilt. Enlightened equipment. I have a convert and use it in quilt mode almost all the time.

I got the Sea to Summit base camp last year. Seems like a decent bag, I got the down model but they have synthetic available also.

Keep in mind that with a more rectangular cut, there is more room in the foot area(that's your intention) and therefore more space to heat or keep heated resulting in a colder feeling bag of the same temp rating. I have this issue as I prefer the non-mummy bags as well.

I have the same problem with mummy bags. I feel like I am being wrapped in plastic wrap. I tried a Monte Bell and with the stretchy material I was comfortable but still had a mummy type bag.

What temp will you be using it in? I have a Kifaru BBB and I enjoy it down to about 35 degrees. It packs super well, uses Apex insulation, and I've slept myself dry in it multiple times this past season.

Also looking for a non-mummy bag in a 0-15 degree, since I sleep cold, and don't want a quilt. I know EE has the Convert that may be an option. Thus far Nemo, SeaToSummit, and Big Agnes are the three non-mummy options that stand out the most. I'm leaning towards a Nemo but was really wanting a non-mummy at or under 2 lbs but can't seem to find one.

There's a reason they're called Mummy bags. I don't see
how any body sleeps in those things. I went Big Agnes.

NEMO bags are excellent for side sleeping and wigglers. I have one of their spoon shaped bags and am very comfortable sleeping in it as a semi-side legs more open than together kind of sleeper.

I too am not a mummy fan, I can’t hardly sleep much feeling all claustrophobic. I went with Big Agnes bags that also come with pad sleeves which are a definite game changer if you are any bit of a wiggler like myself.

Western mountaineering makes some nice semi rectangular extra wide bags .. much more room to move around in through the waist and shoulders and a bigger foot box. I bought the sequoia last year because I can’t get comfortable in the regular mummy style bags— you can actually side sleep in them but they are down and not cheap. Also tried a spoon shaped bag from Nemo but it was not as comfortable IMO

I also have the sequoia and really like it. If the OP isn't dead set on synthetic, I would recommend looking at the WM semi-rec shaped bags. If outside moisture getting to the down fill is of concern, check out the GWS outer membrane option on the WM bags.
