Any bivys that are just as lightweight a borah but more waterproof?

The jimmy's bivy is m50, the borah gear bivy is m90, which is more water resistant?

Mont-Bell breeze, Sleeping bag cover..6.3 oz. Its says that the Dry-tec is water proof and twice as breathable.

As breathable as what? I have/had one. They're excellent at soaking your bag with condensation. Cutting the top off and replacing it with Quantum made that issue better, but didn't solve the larger problem of wind bivys being a poor use of weight.

OP, get a better shelter, maybe a warmer sleeping bag, and ditch the bivy.

Live2hunt, I purchased a Jimmy tarp bivi, and am enjoying it. I use it with the granite tarp with vestibule. I slept in it during the wind and rain about 3 weeks ago, and was quite comfortable. Make sure you tie the loop on the bivi up to the pole loop though or the mesh hangs in your face. I have been using the Nemo Astro insulated which is very comfortable. I purchased a Klymit static V luxe that is 10" wider and 5 oz heavier but I think I will be warmer due to not hanging off of my mat. It fits nicely in my Jimmy bivi. I prefer this link when finding out about Jimy tarps. https://www.facebook.com/JimmyTarps/?fref=ts Jimy is a great guy and has great products. Prices are good as well and customer service is top notch. Have fun.

Sorry it took so long for me to get some pictures up.

One picture is with the zipper closed to show how the mesh is formed outward so it naturally want to go away from your face when unzipped. Also there's a tie so you can hang it up away from your face also

Anyone used the REI minimalist bivy? Looks a lot like the Sierra Designs backcountry bivy to me. I've got my REI dividend coming this month and trying to figure out what to spend it on.

When I was ordering my snowy side I didn't have a color preference. But John at borah gear explained that the black event is a little lighter so I went with that. My snowy side weight 11.xx oz .

possibly the worst bivvy I've used. I hated the zipper arrangement, the silly rain gutters and most everything else about it. Top if off with one of the less breathable WPB fabrics on the market, you are quite frankly possibly better off with no bivvy.
I'd take an SOL escape over the REI, let alone most of the "real" bivvys on the market.
