My only question would be why carry 5 liters of water? Isn't there somewhere along the way that you can refill? You could save some weight there by cutting it to 2-2.5 liters to get you in to camp.

Is this a Washington hunt?

Water: Yes we will be able to get water. But we are looking at 5-6 miles before it's viable. So we may end up not making it to the water until day 2-3 depending upon what we find.

Yes this is a Washington Hunt . Cascades.. :D

You could pick up a sawyer mini water filter, drinking straw, and some 64oz dirty water bladder.

Since I got that setup my 100oz camelback is rarely full as I just drink along the way. I used two 64 oz dirty water bladders for storing water at camp or when there won't be water around.

I have found that there is always plenty of water in the cascades even when the map says that there are no creeks.

id say thats damn good. hard to see where you make up so much weight vs my list as i was at 49 w/bow and 2L water.

today im packed for 4 days with rifle @ 43lbs and 1L water

my list actually didn't have my bow. i was counting that as what I'm carrying in. so i mislead you a bit on that one . :D
might take a chance on the water and drop a couple liters before we take off.

5 liters of water in Washington is overkill for sure. I've yet to go backpacking here and not find multiple water sources. Even on the eastside.

Nice list. I just loaded up and Im at 47lbs for 5 days including rifle, food and 2.5 liters of water. Good Luck!

If I shoot 6 arrows and don't kill anything I'm tossing my bow off of the biggest cliff I can find...(video to follow of course)

It's been really wet in the Cascades the past month so 2 liters should be plenty to start with.

+1 on the Birddog. Thank God it's back on the shelves. Didn't see it there for a while and wasn't sure how I'd survive this fall :)

If your not 100% positive there's water take at least(min) 5liters. Thank me later...

To the OP...

I think if your comfort level put's you at 52# your doing great!
