Oxiclean beats dawn in my opinion, then add some basic white +2 to the 40 vol peroxide to make a paste that sticks better. Then saran wrap it, put it in a black trash bag work a day in the sun.

I think it was just because I didn't let the skull dry. It dried and now it looks white. Anyone else experience this?

I figured it would be better to keep it wet until the entire process was finished, so the gunk wouldn't set into the bone.

This stuff works better for me than the formula 40 stuff. It’s used in agriculture especially hemp. So check with your seed and fertilizer companies.
I have found that the same day I skin the head, I need to boil it for 2-4 hours in water and oxyclean, then powerwash. This prevents the bone sutures from getting dark and the fat from settling into the bone. I then scrape any soft stuff left and use a screwdriver to remove the mastoid process. I then put the oxiDate 2.0 in a sprayer bottle and spray 2-4x waiting an hour or so between. until they’re white. WEAR GLOVES!!! This stuff will turn your skin white in seconds and glasses are smart too.

The antelope skull turned out pretty good. I'd like to do some elk. What container do you guys find best for bull head sous vide?

I tried burying a bear skull for a year. When I dug it up the brains were still in it and it was freaking gross. I have never tried maceration, but it also sounds like a stinky mess. I will only simmer from now on.
A hot tip for getting the horns off is to zap it in the microwave for 30 seconds if it will fit. I had already simmered it once, so it was pretty clean. They pull right off easily after getting nuked. If you try the microwave trick, I recommend doing it when your wife is not home.
