How do antelope respond to summer range fire during and weeks immediately after the fire? Will they return to the blackened areas and browse surviving brush? Will they migrate to winter range or ag land?

Assume that the entire area of bench country burned, ~150 square mile burn scar. Maybe 15-20 mile distance to comparable summer range or center pivots.

Last year in Idaho, a month or so after some big fires, the antelope were in there full force. I'd say as soon as some greenup begins they'll be in there.

It's all depended on how hot it burned and if quality rain followed behind the fire.
This happened to me on a new Mexico hunt , after the fire no rain and I had a very disappointing hunt, the outfitters moved me to a different location, but the permit had a different person name on it, so I chose to call it a loss and return to Texas to catch the pronghorn Season here at home .
Burn followed by rain is a good thing and they will be there ! No rain and it gets tough in my experience, hopefully it rains where you are hunting
