So I got pretty confused trying to figure out what to apply for, and gave up. But am trying to figure it out for next season. I want to archery hunt, does are fine ( preferred actually, as i am only interested in the meat) . And looks as though I apply for a lic. can’t remember but there was some thing to do with private or public land.( some special code ( type) ) Then if I draw I have to buy an archery tag, if I don’t harvest, kill durning archery, I can still go back and hunt with a rifle during that rifle season ? Is this correct ?

There are some units that allow you to hunt archery and rifle, others have arcery only tag.

I don't think that is true for Wyoming antelope. All units are "archery and rifle".

ClearCreek

Yes - you are correct.

I went in 2017 and could do as I said, was planning a 2018 or 2019 hunt with a week of archery before rifle and only had to get a "$75" archery tag - was gonna have to pay full price for mule deer tag tho. Then they changed it to special archery season antelope tags for every unit (to squeeze more juice out of that orange) and I wasn't gonna do just archery, so scrapped plans.

A proposal for last year's legislative session included changing some/many of those units back to the "$75" archery tag cause folks weren't buying the full priced archery only tags in some units. For whatever reason, thought that had been passed cause I was entertaining the idea again.

Rich not sure about your point. We have a special archery season for almost all antelope areas and then the rifle season opens. You just draw your tag and then buy the archery license to hunt that season in Aug.. Once rifle opens you're good to go.
We have or had very few archery only tags for antelope, more for elk. Archery only tags do not have to buy an archery license but can not hunt in rifle season.

The problem with posting questions on this site that can be easily found directly from the source is that false and confusing information is shared and sits on the internet for others to read.

The regs are not all that confusing if you take the time to read them.
