Good, everyone should go through training, not just as a one off either. I'll add though, if you are going to carry a gun you should be carrying a ifak as well. Also you should seek medical training, even a red cross stop the bleed course is a good place to start.

I don't have much for recommendations in Wyoming for training, check out WPSN John Lovell does a good deal of traveling courses may have one in your area also look into tactical response.

While those were both excellent courses and the cadre was great my favorite instructor I've been to is Reid henrichs, heck of a drive to Tennessee from Wyoming though well worth it IMO.
+1 I took the Dark Angel training class and found it very helpful. I took an online TQ refresher through a Stop the Bleed volunteer - who may have been a RS member.

I’m somewhat dreading a drive to DC this week due to their restrictions.

Stories like this one actually happen quite often. But it doesn’t fit the anti gun agenda so a lot of time no one even hears about it

Back around 2012 my aunt-in-laws sister fought off a juvenal brown bear in Fairbanks. She was always anti-gun and anti-gun ownership. However, the day after that happened, she bought a handgun.
Guess it’s not needed until it effects you 🤔

That might even convince Nancy Pelosi

Carried by 6 or tried by 12. I travel to that area on occasion and another neighboring very blue state. That is a decision everyone has to make on their own though.

No need, she/they has plenty of armed security. With scary weapons designed for "killing people as efficiently as possible". I guess that means the secret service is really just a death squadron?

Before I got my CCW I had to make some similar decisions while traveling.

It is also interesting because you can see a microcosm of this on Rokslide. The thread about the TX shooting has hundreds of posts and there is at least one person on here considering homeschooling because of it. This thread has few posts and no one (at least that I've noticed) is discussing changing lifestyle/behavior over it. Yet, why not? No one inspired to carry more frequently from this?

I started carrying about a year ago. This reenforces that decision.

I have CCW but DC is one of those anomalies
Yeah. Several states (district) don’t have reciprocity with WY. I’ll avoid them or decide what’s best for my family if I have to travel through them. Much like businesses, if they won’t allow me to protect my family they don’t get revenue from me; so long as I have another choice. 99% of our out of state travel is to Utah so no problem there.

I may start back up taking pistol classes...we have a group class once a month which is about 45 minutes away....really a club....pretty affordable actually and that instructor does give all type of response/defense classes also.

May also put a plate carrier in the vehicle. I keep a soft armor vest in it now to wear when I go to the indoor range. Need to make a +/- list and evaluate...
