I'm just curios if there is an ammunition shortage nationwide or its only in select areas. None of the usual online retailers are showing stock and everyone seems to be looking for bulk ammo. ( the usual suspects, .22,9mm,.223,etc)
Why does everyone wait until its not available , and then try to stockpile it? Its like the toilet paper hoarding, I just don't understand it.

Local sporting goods store yesterday was laughing at a lady after she paid for a 9mm glock and she asked for ammo. They can’t even order any in.

I made the mistake of getting a 300 PRC yesterday. Was hoping to shoot some factory ammo to test it out. There’s none available in stores or online.

There has been some ammo available locally but prices have definitely risen. I'm seeing $15 a box for 9mm 115gr FMJs and $9 a box of 20 for 223/556 55gr FMJ.

Yeah I took advantage of academy and their misshap about 3-4 years ago on .22 Ammo. CCI long rifle 50 per box for $0.60 ish per box. Bought 2850 rounds for around $45! Ha! Made out like a bandit!

How many shells per box of 9?

I've been finding it at smaller retailer and farm stores in the three states I work in,last week I bought 9mm for 8.99 a box for brass cases and I was at same store yesterday and they had cheap steel case for 7.50 a box and steel case 223 for 4.29 a box...most of my local stores have it but are limiting sale to a box per day per customer.

Before the pandemic:
9mm-$.16-18 per round was the norm now it's $.24-33
.223-$.27-30 per round now $.40-50

Joke. Glad I stocked up on .223 and .22 I am low on 9mm unfortunately.

I heard components were short too, but I’m set for a long time on those too.

i was in my sportsman’s warehouse here yesterday and they were about half stocked when I looked at the components. I left them for you guys.

Primers are non existent right now. You can still find powder and projectiles, but none of that matters without primers. Prices are crazy here in Georgia too. Every shop I’ve been in lately has a first time gun owner making a purchase.

Meh. I didn't draw any rifle tags and my wife is stocked up for USPSA.

Let me know when the arrow shortage starts.
