Always delayed on gun purchases

I am always delayed due to my clearance. Sometimes for days. I was actually told that. Maybe the type/level of clearance matters?
But man, it sure is nice not to have to take off my shoes at the airport. Go figure, lol.

It does. TS and above is where the delays come in.

I’ve had almost 50 NICS checks and Never delayed. Never use SSN. Only person in the US with my name, that might help. My wife also is the only person in the US with her name. We both have CCW permits but they don’t apply in WI for a quick grab and go for guns.

ETA: I’m also lucky enough to be randomly checked and searched at the airport. Every. Damn. Time.

That’s too bad, Here in Alaska I fill out the form, pay the cashier and walk out. That’s what NICS is supposed to accomplish. If Colorado still does a check with a NICS exempt CC then that’s just unfortunate : )

I had a TS clearance while AD and still have a secret clearance for my current job. I guess knock on wood, but I’ve never had a delay.

I had TS when i worked for Boeing. A few years later I started getting delayed (I have a pretty common name) so I applied for the UPIN and was awarded it last month. Now I need to find something to use it on

I have an uncommon name, a UPIN for over 10 years and still occasionally get a delay BUT only if I go somewhere the counter person is illiterate…..
When I go to the couple small shops I have to wait 30-40 minutes for the further review but it’s at least a proceed…..

Took a few transactions to figure it out….
