Aluminum weaver-style rings

Does anyone have any experience with these?

I'm just curious if 6061 aluminum is stout enough for a 300 mag.

I'm also looking at these.

I've looked at Warne Mtn Tech, Badger Ordnace and TPS 7075, but don't like the looks of the big ole nut sticking out the side of them.

I like the looks of them. I would prefer aluminum rings though. I will see how much they weigh as compared to the aluminum rings I am looking at.

The steel, horizontal rings from Warne are 5.0 oz. The aluminum Mountain Tech from Warne are 3.5 oz. Plus, the steel Warne Maxima bases are 2.5 oz. These would be replacing the 2.0 oz Talleys that I have now.

So 3 oz. weight penalty more or less.
