Patagonia Houdini is good for wind but it doesn't breathe well

OR Ferrossi jacket but it’s not wind proof. The mountain jacket has never been wind proof to my knowledge but the jetstream lite was. Wish they still made the jetstream lite, it was fantastic

I have an old jetstream lite in the closet, XL and open country I'd be willing to sell if anyone is interested. Regular jacket no hood.

30oz? Seems like more of a replacement to the jetstream jacket than to a packable wind layer like the mountain jacket

Not a replacement, but I just got my hands on a discontinued Sitka Nimbus (Windstopper, taped seams and light-9 oz in Large)—looks like it's going to be a dandy.

Sitka seems to be a little quick on hitting the discontinue button.

Reminds me of Patagonia with the Northwall jacket and bibs. Also ArcTeryx with the Atom SV jacket. Don’t get me started!

Evo is a solid option. Breathes very good well cutting the wind and handling some light rain/ snow. I’m with you on wishing it didn’t have a hood tho.

I cut the hood hood off my solid green evo. I just took my time and you can’t tell there ever used to be a hood as the collar stands alone now.
