Has anyone compared these two socks?

I love merino/darn tough. But I need more socks and I'm wondering if there's a big difference between the two fibers. From hot sweat hunts to cold has anyone noticed a difference?

I like my alpaca socks they are softer and more comfortable for casual use than most or all of my merin0 socks. pacas and I think its willow are the 2 alpaca wool socks I have tried. They do keep the stink away. They do seem to breath well for hot weather. I havent used them on a mountain/intense type hunt but wouldnt be surprised if they did well. willow seem more dense tight weave closer to a merino feel while my pacas are soft and might wear quicker with heavy use or slide down with intense use?? I reach for my pacas most days around the house and for my hobby farm and local hunting... Give them a try.

I have darn tough and i have hollow socks(alpaca)..

My official stance is that I'm not wild about the alpacas they pill up easy and are heavily reinforced with nylon/stretch material. I'm almost tempted to send mine back to Hollow because I feel like the socks are gonna die within the year and put my money towards more darn toughs

questionable longevity aside... The Hollows are comfy

I've used different brands of Merino and one brand of Alpacas.
I was unimpressed with the Alpacas. Too stiff. Didn't conform to my feet very well. It felt like the hollow wool collapsed and didn't open back up.
So far my Darn Toughs have held up the best. I've yet to have any fail and get holes in them.

Alpaca by far, find someone that process their own wool and get some made from it. do not subject to any kind of heat...I have 2 pairs and alternate leaving the one pair to dry. I am on year 3 for them with an average of 100 days per pair per year...I wear them a lot from Sept-May. Central Alberta, temps down to -40.

I got my halllows and have worn them for two days. I agree with this. They're soft AF and comfortable. Not sure yet how they will do in the heat and sweat yet. But I can definitely see them wearing out quick.
