A miss is a miss.
As a female shooter, i know I’m a big fan of the bigger calibers. And i really like my 338 win mag and don’t think the recoil is unmanageable. If she finds a gun she likes just pick a caliber and run with it. I’ve always wanted a 7mm caliber the 7mm-08 your looking at is probably a wise choice

Because not all shots are perfect. She wants do do a moose hunt in Canada someday as well. She might as well get an all around rifle and get used to shooting it now
Right. So good bullet in 243 and a good bullet in a 300wsm, both gut shots. Is the 300wsm big enough to turn a gut shot into a lung shot?
I’m sure there’s women who are totally cool with recoil-buttttt I haven’t seen any that are cool with it who don’t flinch like a mofo. In fact, I’ve seen a bunch of dudes who flinch with a 243-imagine what they do with a bigger rifle-and none of them had any idea they were flinching.
I don’t particularly care what people choose to hunt with, but I just don’t get the logic of bigger is better. I mean, elk and moose are hunted with bows and arrows?

I’ve changed my mind a couple times, and I always come back to the 7mm-08. It’ll do just about anything we’d need done in the lower 48 (we don’t shoot passed 400 yards)
