Alaska Topo Gps

Does anyone have any experience with Alaska gps topo maps. The garmin alaska sd does not have very good reviews and not much info on the onxhunt for alaska.

Also, don't expect any AK topo to be all that good. They've done some recent updates, but the maps are often very old and with big contour spacing /interpolation. Just a warning.

I have the SD card and it works great for all my uses up here. Able to navigate just fine with them on all our hunts and summer thru hikes. Of course if you are used to higher resolution topo the lower 48 has then the Alaska at 63K will be of course not as good but plenty good for me like i said.

Yeah - to be clear, plenty good for use, but for someone used to 1:24000 it can be a surprise... And don't expect, for example, cliff bands to be obvious using our topo up here. They often just disappear in the contours.
