Alaska moose from the road?

Keep in mind a lot of prices that your refusing pay are set at a cost that gets you remote, and likely into a more unpressured area. you can likely pay less. The airplane will just move you less distance. Don’t expect cheaper to be as good or the equivalent amount of flying as those charging more.
I fly my guys over 70 miles in off a remote village. But if you want to fly for 15 minutes from my house I’ll do it ALOT cheaper!

Yea I totally understand what you’re saying no doubt. But for instance the common going rate I hear for say a beaver is around 1200hr so if u flew 60 miles in that’s roughly $2500 for the trip in split between say 3 guys and gear. So that’s 5k both trips in and out and then two more trips for meat if all three kill. That comes to 15k split three ways. So I can’t get the math to add up to 15k each? Maybe I’m missing something. Anyway I’m just trying to figure it out! But thanks anyway help and advice. I’ll def take it! Be safe out there and good luck in the future!

Thomas I hear what you’re saying. Totally understand. I’ve been in this business a long time I have learned a few things. Lol.

One thing I have learned is most of the world doesn’t understand a seasonal income and the year round work it takes to do it.

Second thing I have learned is everyone wants the most for the least.

The example you’re giving relates to an air taxi or a transporter. Those are two different things. A transporter can legally charge a flat rate for their flying. Say 15k. A air taxi (part 135) can only legally charge you for his hourly flying. So don’t look at a transporter. Look at an air taxi. Then you will end up with your split three ways deal.
This is my understanding of the regs, perhaps they have changed but this is how I remember it.
