Headed back to Alaska again at the end of August 2025 for a 2 week caribou hunt/ hiking trip. Last year was solo this year i habe a biddy going with. Anyone else going this year? I had good luck last year and just an all around amazing trip. Would be interested in hearing about everyone elses trips this year. If anyone is packing and getting ready to go for the first time and have any questions just message me I can share some of my limited knowledge. Alwaus happy to help. Happy 2025 hunting season everyone. August is here and the chase begins soon!

Not in the cards this year, really going to miss being there in September as I've been there the last two Septembers for two weeks trips.

I did manage to get some land bought up there, so will be a more regular visitor to the greatest state.

I'll be solo off the Haul Rd 8/21 - 8/31. First time. Just bringing a bow, packraft and backcountry gear. Got some solid connections they work for BLM and ADFG so expectating the worst and hoping for the best as always 🤞🏽 Good luck!

Best of luck with the bow. I took mine last year and ended up putting the bow in the truck and doing rhe death march with my rifle. It paid off. Never could get closer than 85yards with my bow. Was hoping to get within 70 yards, but never did. They have a natural bow range radar I swear. Since you have a pack raft maybe take a rifle. Hike in and float out theres a couple spots you could do that. Last year i just kept relaying my meat and moving my small tent till I was within 1 mile of the road and then hauled it all out in a couple quick trips and was done. A couple extra nights in the field sleeping under the stars was not a bad thing and I got it done.

I hope to go there in the next few years for the first time. Looks epic. Did South Africa and doing Scotland next year, New Zealand 2027 and back to Africa 2028. Alaska may have to be 2029 if I can’t sneak it in sooner! Post some pics!!

Thanks man. I'm on a quest to do certain hunts with a bow and this is one of them. I might go back next year with a friend and rifle. Honestly fishing is equally important and I'm going to spend time hunting Ptarmigan too.

I got one of these. I'm sure it's mostly laughable but they've been known to work on certain bulls. Usually alone or in a pair. It would have to be the right animal in the right scenario with little wind but it weighs nothing, packs to nothing, costs nothing (in comparison to all else invested) and who knows? Maybe it can buy 5-10 yards.
