Where you go antelope hunting?Going on a pronghorn hunt is a great way to get started hunting out there. Tags are pretty cheap and they are a lot of fun to hunt!

Wyoming. Lots of antelope country and its pretty easy to find information like draw odds, public land, etc. on their website.Where you go antelope hunting?
I have 2 PP in WY but it looks like for a decent unit, lots public land and less crowded, you need about 4-6 points. Is that correct?Wyoming. Lots of antelope country and its pretty easy to find information like draw odds, public land, etc. on their website.
I would say yes and no. Granted I haven't done very much specific research on a lot of the antelope units so I can't speak on the amount of points needed for better units. I have been to about 4 different units, all drawn with zero points. I had opportunities on each hunt, some just took being patient and working through all of the land opportunities that were there.I have 2 PP in WY but it looks like for a decent unit, lots public land and less crowded, you need about 4-6 points. That’s what I’ve read I looked into unit 29 I believe but will probably wait until 4-5 PP and goI would say yes and no. Generally, the more points you have the better the it gets as far as more land and less crowded. and when you start getting into the higher point numbers you start getting into trophy units. As you go up in points there should be less people with more land opportunities.
I took a group out there, about 10 of us with no points, to an area I had been to before. 8 of 10 got a buck. Some were not so big but it was their first trip out there so they were happy. One of the guys killed one that was just shy of scoring big enough to be boone and crockett.
All that to say that its hard to say for sure, if you are already at 2 points it wouldn't hurt to get a few more. In the meantime you could always go out there and hunt your second choice unit or get doe tags. That way you are still building points but you are also able to get good experience that will be valuable when you draw a tag with your points.
Hopefully this makes some kind of sense.
I would look into 27 as well. call the biologist for that region and ask them lots of questions before you apply. You will be glad you did. That’s what I’ve read I looked into unit 29 I believe but will probably wait until 4-5 PP and go
I go to the Armory up there every now and then. Any good places to eat?New here from Alabama too - Arab area
Yea I meant 29. 27, 47 or 32 looks like what I am planning on down the rode. 5 PP is what it takes now so we will see if I can wait that long
I know you were mule deer hunting but did you happen to take note of any turkeys around? Hard to get a judgment on what the actual bird population is on the reservation.Standing Rock is where I hunted. If you draw a tag next year let me know and I’ll give you all the places I hunted.
