AKEK - We Need Your Opinion

Once of the reasons AKEK has grown so fast is because we keep listening to guys here on RS and of course our current customers.

We’re making design updates to the AKEK pack and trying to decide between two zipper options for the front hip belt pockets. Let us know which you prefer for the front pockets.

Water-Resistant Zippers​

Pros: Better rain protection; matches other zippers on rest of pack.

Cons: Harder to open one-handed

Regular Zippers​

Pros: Easier one-handed access; smoother use

Cons: Less rain protection; doesn’t match other zippers

I'm down for all the waterproofing I can get. I wax stubborn zippers on my gear to make them easier to open anyway.

I prefer waterproof, as water just adds weight.

Disclaimer: I don’t currently have any of your products but have had multiple packs with hip pockets. I’ve never felt the need for them to be waterproof, but I have been frustrated with the noise and/or difficulty of opening them. Smooth and quiet would be my priority.

I like regular zippers myself. I've used both and much prefer ease of access

Regular. No way would I want to have hip pockets more difficult to access one handed.
