Airport people watching...on par, better or worse than Wal-mart?

Vegas is a also a good one…
The Vegas airport is depressing. I’ve had to fly in and out of there quite a bit over the last few years for work and it was sad to see some of the people at the slot machines in the airport trying to win before they leave.

I fly out of the Orlando airport often and I don’t think a time goes by where I don’t see some adult wearing micky mouse ears or a hat that looks like goofy with floppy ears.

Sitting in Denver killing a few hrs between flights and I can only stare at this screen for so long so I watch the masses go by...dear God we are doomed as a species I think...walked past a gate boarding for Portland...WOW is all I can say.
So what's your take?
Ive seen some pretty unique specimens in the bigger airports Ive been in, but Ive certainly not hit them all. Also seen some exceptionally troubling examples at various Walmarts throughout the country. I think Walmart has got the upper hand in both quality(?) and density.
What airport has the most loonies in your experience?
Is there a "People of Airports" page somewhere like what they have/had for Wally world?
Should I start one?
Its definitely interesting to watch the differences from gate to gate based on destination...
I need to take a nap, its been a long couple days😵‍💫🤣...really hoping not to be stuck between two Samoans on this next flight...I hate airports.
As someone who is at the airport constantly, my vote is the airport. You get all walks of life, levels of affluence (except the super rich), ages, and nationalities at the airport. Walmart has a significantly narrower slice of the general population. As far as loonies go, it’s Newark. Not that they are the most out-there people, like Portland or Seattle, but you stick a bunch of New Yorkers in an overloaded airport with the worst service, then spice it up with huge delays and cancellations… it really does a number on people and you get to see normal people acting crazy. The entire place feels like a powder keg sometimes. As far as gate crowds… yup. Nothing like a Newark to Miami run to make you appreciate not living either place. Take a flight to Indy or Des Moines or San Antonio and it’s all smiles and manners.

We went to the county fair last weekend in the early afternoon. We went with another couple and our kids. After walking through the animals we decided to go back to our house and eat some dinner and then go back to the fair specifically to people watch.

While people watching we agreed we would come up with bingo cards for next year with specific people watching criteria.

For example, Cowboy Boots with shorts, cowboy boots baseball cap, cowboy hat with no cowboy boots, dad new balances with jean shorts and tucked in tee, sandals with socks, belly hanging out under tee shirt.

You get the idea. We tried a couple while we were just walking around and it seemed no matter how idiotic, we easily found what we were looking for.

I look forward to playing Bingo next year at the fair.

I think County Fairs deserve a spot at the top with Airports and WalMart.

Ahhh...the Fair...forgot about that one 🤣.
thats a strong contender there. Its usually so hot, humid, rainy, and miserable here around fair time we skip it. Not to mention God awful expensive. It certainly brought out all types last time we ventured there couple years back though I will definitely give you that.
I gotta wonder sometimes if its that much self confidence or that much lack of mental capacity coupled with really bad eye sight or not owning a mirror that gets folks into some of the outfits they wear out in public, or anywhere for that matter.

On a similar but slightly different note...
The phones....OMG....the phones🤦‍♂️.
I waste time on mine now and then(like right now),but I can't do more than 15-20 minutes at a time without feeling like im wasting my life away and feeling guilty about it and putting it away for awhile.
I swear it felt like I was the only person of any age over 2 that was not glued to my screen non stop...I wish I would have taken a time lapse video of it. Watching how so many folks just utterly zoned out on their little screen seemingly endlessly was honestly kind of alarming and depressing.

On par

People always wore crazy outfits at Wally-World especially if they ran in there late at night for medicine or food staples they needed….

But at the airport…. People shouldn’t be surprised about a trip (for the most part). Outfits seem like a competition at times for the most Ridiculous.

I don’t even wear or dress like that when I’m painting, working underneath a truck, staying at home for the day, or sleeping…

But there they are, AT THE AIRPORT… crushing it !!!!

I am in my fair share of airports.

Many years ago, It used to be that Maui Airport was cool as you would always see good looking scantily clad women and celebrities up close; Gabby Reese [almost my height] / Laird Hamilton/ Salma Hyak [dang she is tiny], Jennifer Aniston on the same day.

Now in airports the trend is to travel in your flannel pajamas.....

I traveled for work for the last 10 years until just recently. People don't believe the stories I've told from the freaks at the airport. We are doomed as a species if the rest of the world is the way airport people are. A coworker and I are thinking about writing a book detailing our adventures over the years. I think it would be a best seller!

Maybe the time goes by faster in a Walmart. You can always go lean up against the deer corn, and talk about how the 6.5 is a good caliber for the ladies.
