Airlock Zero Gravity Nano (.224)

Got a shipping notification today for a 6.5 ordered on Black Friday.

Hopefully they included the 1/2x28 adapter that didn't ship with the Nano last month...

I haven’t seen any updates here or in your emails in the last month or so regarding the thread adapters for the Nanos. Looks like my 1/1 Nano didn’t ship with an adapter. Wondering how far behind the adapters will be.

We expect to have the adapters ready early next week. We outsource these components, and our partner recently experienced tooling issues, but they anticipate having the correct tooling in place tomorrow.

We have cataloged all orders that shipped without adapters and will send them out as soon as they are available.

Additionally, we just completed a production run of 7s. This will fulfill the remaining four Black Friday orders we were short on and cover approximately 70% of the 1/1 7mm orders. We will be filing Form 3s tonight/tomorrow and plan to begin shipping most of them on Friday. The ATF has been a bit slower than usual on Form 3 approvals, some have been taking up to four days so we are hopeful they will be processed by Friday or Monday.

We appreciate your patience and will keep you updated.

Looking forward to hearing a report!!

So, I picked it up today and so far I am very happy with it. My session got cut shorter than I would have liked (I got a phone call in the middle of the second group), but so far it seems like a great hunting suppressor.

As you all know, I think these cell phone recordings are pretty much useless, but people like them.

Air temperature was about 63. I started off shooting 10 rounds of the Frontier 5.56 62-grain FMJ. This is a pretty spicy load. I get about 3120 FPS from my 16.5” 1:9” twist barrel. Accuracy is usually excellent.

AB Raptor 10 with 5” reflex:

The group I shot:

The AB Raptor 10 was warm, but I could still grip it enough to unscrew it after 10 rounds. I let the rifle barrel cool a few minutes while I reloaded the magazines and swapped the suppressor.

Airlock Nano:

The mirage became noticeable on the third shot and I commented on it on shot 4. My reflex to reach up make sure the suppressor was still tight was painful, but not injurious. The group definitely struggled with the mirage.

Recoil with a 5.56 isn’t really a thing, but there was more of it with the lighter suppressor. I don’t recall feeling much different on the blast. From my perspective, behind the rifle, with double hearing protection, it was a bit louder than the “stupid quiet” AB Raptor 10, but given the size and weight difference, this is understandable.

If I hadn’t been interrupted by the phone call, I would have asked the folks who showed up to the range after I started for their impressions. Next time…

This suppressor is almost certainly going to live on my stainless Tikka T3X .22-250 with a 22” 1:8” twist barrel factory threaded 5/8x24. That rifle is currently off getting a wooden Rokstok lite. Once I get it back, I hope to pair it up with a good 88-grain TMK load, an SWFA 5-20x, and do some long range groundhog hunting.

On my drive home, I found myself wondering how well it would work on an FN 5.7x28. I don’t own one and probably never will, but the idea intrigues me.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sounds like it being is same ballpark as Raptor 10 is high praise. That’s a stove pipe of a can.

It’s not really close to the Raptor.

Edit - But it certainly doesn’t sound awful. My guess is that it’s a low 130s suppressor on my rifle with that ammo. My guess is that most of the noise from the Raptor is sonic crack.

Wanted to give a shout out to Danny for taking care of me. I had a small issue with my nano and a big issue with my thread adapter(not an airlock product). Threading the suppressor on was very tight. I was getting end cap strikes when using an adapter. Sent Danny an email he called me directly paid to have the suppressor sent back to him. He cleaned up the threads and found out my adapter was the reason for the end cap strikes. Got me a new adapter and now everything is working great. Took a less than a week to get it across the country and back. Now I'm just waiting on my 65 to get out of jail. Thanks Danny.

What covers are you guys using for these little guys?

Here’s the smallest LSWild cover I had on hand. Fit is not quite snug enough but work in a pinch, and obviously too long.

The issue is being able to sew inside out, then flip it so the seam is hidden, on something this small.

I’m probably just going to roll with this because I don’t care much about the aesthetic.

Shot the nano yesterday on the mini 223ai 16.5”.

It could be me but it’s a little louder than the DD Wolfhunter I was using previously. Not enough to care about.

Muzzle rise slightly worse with the 4 ounce can versus a 9 ounce can. But again, 223ai not a lot of recoil. It’s more noticeable because this rifle is under 6lbs with the nano. Still watched impacts from the bench.

It is exactly as advertised. I can’t think of a better option for a 223 hunting rifle.

The LSWild cover worked fine to help with mirage, but didn’t stay put. Need to figure that out.

What is everyone shooting through the Nano? I ordered one on Black Friday along with the 6.5. I don't have a host for the nano yet and looking for opinions on what you all think would be ideal. As stated I have a 6.5 which my Airlock 6.5 will live on. Looking for a 22 caliber for the Nano. Do I go with 22 Arc? 22 Creedmoor? others?

I'm shooting .223 (the majority) and 22 Creedmoor through mine. My .223 is my walkabout rifle, works perfectly for that scenario.

I’ll be using it primarily on a 22” Tikka .22-250. Secondarily on a 16.5” Tikka .223.

I love the 22 ARC, its accurate, flat shooting, good range of ammunition that's decently priced.
