Airlock Zero Gravity Nano (.224)

I just ran out and tested it. It was around 120 dB at the ear on a 16" .22 LR with supers. For reference, the firing pin on that Tikka T1X meters at about 112 dB. When shooting subs, the firing pin is actually the loudest part.

Does shooting rimfire through a nano require cleaning?

It will be close, but that’s still the plan.

HAAS sent the wrong tool holders for our machine (we discovered this during setup yesterday). They overnighted the correct ones last night, but they won’t arrive until Thursday (tomorrow).

Thursday through Sunday will be spent machining, sandblasting, engraving, coating, and packaging as many units as we can. We’ll file our Form 2s over the weekend for everything that’s completed.

We’ll be at SHOT Show Monday through Thursday afternoon. Once I’m back Thursday, I’ll start filing Form 3s so we can hopefully ship a large batch Friday or Saturday of next week. I will be taking my laptop to SHOT and if I have time I will file form 3s in the evenings as well.

We’re working on a date right now and are planning to do another pre-order in February. Our goal is to get most (if not all) Black Friday orders shipped before opening it up. We’re also finalizing the timeline on a 3D printer we’re bringing online, install, setup, and when it’ll be running, so we can see if we’re able to allocate more units for that batch.

In theory it should be online by the time we’re producing that run, but we want everything confirmed and in writing before locking it in.
 
Rimfire is just super dirty in general, and generally requires cleaning more often than CF. I don't know if there are any exceptions to this.
This. You’d be much better off buying a dedicated rimfire can now that there’s not a 50-100% upcharge going to the ATF for rimfire suppressors. You’d be shocked how dirty rimfire is and having the ability to break them down is a necessity.

Is rimfire dirtier because something specific to rimfire ammo?

Or is it that they don’t “self clean” because they have less blast in general?

Part of the “dirtiness” comes from using unjacketed lead bullets. That’s the part I don’t like about the cleaning process. I believe they also “burn dirtier”, but whether that’s a powder function alone or related to the lower pressure, I can’t say.

It’s a combination of the unjacketed bullet, lube typically present on rimfire bullets, the powder, and the lower pressure. Everything about 22 rimfire ammo is dirty, even when shooting Eley and Lapua.
