Airlock Zero Gravity 30

You dont happen to have access to a ptr vent 1 or cat JL, do you? They seem to be two of the quietest cans from my research. Id be interested to see how your smaller airlock 30 compares as it seems to be punching above its weight class.
The JL is ridiculously quiet. I own one. Unless @AirlockIndustries does some crazy voodoo, I can’t expect a can half the size and weight to perform the same as the JL.

But size wise, adding the JL to the end of a rifle makes it a musket. On a 20” 6.5 PRC for reference.

I believe it was the Airlock ZG 7 that was compared to the PTR Vent 1 in the sticky at the top of the suppressor forum. No meters IIRC, but still another data point if you haven’t seen that.

I read that article. People there were saying the airlock 7 was quieter than the ptr vent 1. However, the argument could be made thr airlock 7 was quieter as it was made for the rounds being shot, while the ptr vent 1 was overbored. Hence why Id like to see how the 30 cal version performs on a 30 cal vs the ptr or cat JL.

That is insane if the zg 30 ( 6" long, 1.7" diameter, 7.7 oz ) is quieter than the PTR Vent 1 ( 8.4" long, 1.75" diameter, 12.3 oz ).

For clarity, we haven’t tested the ZG 30 against the PTR Vent One yet. However, we do know our 30 is 1 dB quieter than our 7 on a 7 PRC.

We have tested the ZG30 against several other 6" suppressors, Ultra 7, Thunder Chicken, and Raptor 8 w/ 3" reflex. Based on both subjective ear testing and data from the Larson Davis 821, the ZG30 came out quieter overall. The only suppressor that came close was the Raptor.

That said, I don’t want this thread to turn into a debate over testing methods or sample rates. Silencer Summit will ultimately be the final word on performance.

How about the subjective recoil? 😉

Well if the 30 cal airlock is quieter than the 30 cal ptr on 7mm, it'd stand to reason it'd be similar or even quieter on 30 cal too!

When will these be back in stock next? This might have to be my next suppressor.

I can vouch that the ZG 30 is 5-6db quieter than my Thunder Chicken. Compared on a 300 PRC 20" barrel, and I was blow away on how it compared, shorter, lighter and quieter...

Anyone try them on 300 blk? It would be awesome on a small bolt gun like a mini-fix. I have a cz in 300 blk I might auppress.
I plan to use one on a cva scout pistol with subs this winter. I’m a long ways away from getting to use the combo but I look forward to it.
