How did it fail?

I’m not sure. I never submerged it while on the hunt, my laziness and not wanting to soak it. Returned to REI before problem solving it. I have to say, it was the most comfortable pad I’ve ever tried, while it held air.

I’ve been using the rapide SL insulated for the last two years. Love it. No leaks or issues.
