Air Lock Industries Suppressor

And repeated exposure to sounds in the 120s is still not a great idea.

But, as a hunting can, it does seem to hit the mark.
In the 120’s you should be hearing safe for 10+ shots a day. With single protection, ie just plugs or muffs every shot you are exposed to is in the 120’s or higher without a can. This illustrates why everyone should be using silencers.

I am going to buy a couple Airlock suppressors come January I think they will be perfect for my 2 new ULUL builds

I’ve got the range set aside for us on Friday night and Saturday morning 9am.

Friday, Nov 14th, 7pm at triple j armory in Littleton, co. This will be indoors. Please be aware of the limitations and don’t be fussy. No one else will be on the range except our group.
I will bring a 17” .223 and 16” 6.5cm along with a TBAC Ultra 5 gen2. I’m going to try and have an OG 6.5 on hand as well.

You must complete the waiver to enter the range. https://app.otterwaiver.com/p/triple-j-armory/eaydF7XjpO

If you get there a few minutes early, please consider buying a box of ammo for us to shoot from the shop or some other item you may need.

If anyone local can “run” the Saturday morning session, send me a message. And by run I mean heard the cats and make sure range is clean & clear after the session.

If you want to check out the suppressor but can’t make it this weekend (I know, short notice) please send me a pm. I’m going to work with other Kyle to get another date on the books with more notice to all.

Denver Demo. I’ve been in contact with @h2so4 , who’s friends with the owner of Triple J Armory. We’re transferring a demo 6.5 Zero Gravity to Triple J Armory in Littleton, CO. If anyone in the Denver area wants to check it out or get some range time with it, feel free to stop by. They’ll have it for about two weeks before Form 3’ing it back to us. I will update this when it arrives to them.

I’m planning to be there for the Friday night session. Thanks for setting it up.

I don’t have a can to bring of my own, ZG 6.5 will likely be my first so I’m interested in seeing it. I will bring my 20” 6.5cm in case we want another length.

What’s the cost? I may be able to swing by with a TBAC U7 for comparison as well.

Thank you for sharing this.

@4th_point — Looking forward to your dissertation on this.

atmat,

Not a dissertation, but since you asked...

The averages posted (screenshot below) were not calculated correctly.

Whoever calculated the averages treated them as linear units. That is incorrect. Decibels are log units and the log average needs to be used.

Formi made the same mistake, in another thread.

For the numbers presented, it doesn't make a huge difference. But, do you now understand that people need to be careful recording, analyzing, and reporting noise measurements?

Please explain exactly how these expensive sound level meters are being used improperly. Not in this thread - start a new one specifically on that topic. Not for a step by step to help manufacturers improve (that’s professional consultation). I’m asking specifically for “what the consumer needs to know.”

I’ve found many of the smarter people I’ve met are able to articulate complicated topics in a more approachable manner.

Just shoot me a PM if you want to discuss it. Or start a thread and tag me, and I'll answer as best I can.

I did create this thread too: https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/thread-for-noise-tech-talk.420317/

FWIW - I have no dog in the suppressor fight. I do wish Danny the best of luck though. The Airlock performance seems impressive, and he's come across as a genuinely nice dude. And has been a gentlemen in this thread.
