Air Lock Industries Suppressor

Getting sidetracked, but...

The reported averages in the AB video are wrong, regardless of test setup.

The diff is small, but it makes one question what else was done wrong. Could just be oversight. They did take 6 samples for each config, which is commendable. But it was done with their old SLM, with limited sample rate. They have new equipment now, and maybe a better understanding of log units.

After a few days of FedEx screwing around, it’s here!

This thing is insanely light and looks amazing. 5.7oz on my scale. Best finish on a 3D printed suppressor I’ve seen to date.

In stock on the site, if it doesn’t sell quick it’s gonna wind up as a demo can on one of our personal guns 😂

Look forward to getting some more in and getting some time behind one!

taking new can out of printing, flushing it and then shooting it causes it to be much lower dB than it really is due to residual fluid left inside until it completely burns off.
As an example, doing the same to an OG variation the other day, it showed multiple 123 and 124dBA readings, and then slowly creeped back up after 15-20 shots to where it really is.
Intriguing -- thank you.

Does this imply that I could potentially dunk my can in a creek, shake it out, and hunt with it for a day without necessarily needing ear pro?

Haha.

I am highly skeptical of 4.3” long suppressor (actual MF length) and 130dBA.- that’s an AB Raptor 8, one of the best near 7” long cans.
Not even due to any purposeful deceit, but just taking new can out of printing, flushing it and then shooting it causes it to be much lower dB than it really is due to residual fluid left inside until it completely burns off.
As an example, doing the same to an OG variation the other day, it showed multiple 123 and 124dBA readings, and then slowly creeped back up after 15-20 shots to where it really is.

As well, there will be actual cartridge and barrel length restrictions on a 1.7” diameter sub 6oz can.
That makes sense I kept wondering what magic fairy dust they were sprinkling on there to get those numbers.

Will anyone at UM/S2H be getting their hands on one of these and testing it?

Also heard about these guys from the EXP podcast. Once I get a dedicated can for my 6ac its a toss between this and the OG. Hoping folks start commenting about their experience with the airlock can.
If the decibels are real I don't see a very good comparison. Quieter, " longer, almost half the weight. I will ne picking one up.

I remember seeing on a show or movie WAY back in the day, these tactical operators poured water into their pistol cans prior to entering a structure. I guess the wet supressor theory holds merit. I figured it was just some Hollywood BS.
