So a little about me. I’m there to hunt, I’m not much of a camper, I also hunt enough days I need food & cannot survive on freeze dried.

I’ve tried 2 burners, pots, pans, griddles and little grills.

There always mess and take attention.

I already have a Honda 2000 watt generator.

I’m considering taking an air fryer. Start the generator and the timer, & let it cook away while you’re getting your pack/bed etc ready,
It can do anything you can on a grill, and it’s better at frozen food.

It can do burgers, dogs, chicken strips and fry’s, burritos wrapped in foil.

I’ll have a jet boil for coffee etc

The only thing it couldn’t really do is soups.

Is anyone else doing this or considering it.

I hunted the AZ Strip last year with Next Level Outfitters, their Air Fryer burrito game was on POINT! I never would've thought of an air fryer, but I can tell you if I could stuff one in my pack where I am going this year, I'd do it in a heart beat.

I’ve been taking ours camping and it’s pretty slick. Super easy to whip up fries for the kids. Easy clean up after as well.
If you want to go all out check out the Ninja wood fire, it’s an air fryer, grill, smoker combo. It’s around the same size as a regular air fryer and has a nice little collapsible stand. My parents love theirs, it’s great for just the two of them.

I'm locked and loaded 24/7. I truck camp with a toaster oven style but also have a full kitchen as well. I use it every camping trip and it's probably one of the best things I've added to the truck. I mainly use it for stuff like frozen chicken tenders, fries, French bread pizza, cookies, biscuits, etc. I don't do anything thats overly drippy or saucy since it's not a basket type. Runs off a large battery setup with 1500w inverter.

If your sole purpose is to zombie mode your meals, it's hard to beat it. Bring it along and give it a whirl. Pro-tip: air fried Uncrustable if you like PB&J. Throw a couple in there for about 5 min and it'll change your life.

I'd 100% do that. Camp stoves and and the associted pans and cookware are always a pain.

Air fryer is the best way to make brats too FYI.

Oatmeal cream pie in the oven is a staple at deer camp. Would be amazing in an air fryer. This is a great idea.

Interesting, never thought of it. My TT has a micro and that comes in handy for camping.

I am like you, I don't sit around camp much and want things quick, fast and easy. One stove with a tea kettle to boil water for coffee. One skillet that is used to warm up pre cooked homemade meals. No real mess. Super simple. Just cook the meals a day or two before leaving and use the skillet to warm them up or a micro if you are in a trailer. No time spent cooking.

Last year I installed an inverter in my truck and picked up a cheap microwave off Craigslist. My boys love having hot pockets and chimichangas in elk camp.

I have a big install duo crisp I use at home. Don’t think I’d want to take it camping.

But you can sear, slow cook, sous vide, air fryer I’ll kinda stuff.

I mostly make nuggets and fry’s in it. lol and slow cook.

Not sure if was mentioned already but you can get a propane arifryer. This way you can possibly run the electrical portion off of a truck inverter.

Boom. This will do it all including your soup from a block of frozen.

instant pot air fryer
This is what I have at home,
I’m slightly under the impression it’s a bit much for camp.

And a Honda 2k gen only runs for like I think 5.5 hrs on a tank of gas 😆

we don't do airfryer camping, but we'll often premake meals like chili, chicken and dumplings, pulled pork and have them in freezer ziplocs. Drop them in boiling water to heat, eat out of the bag and toss it when done and no dishes to wash.

You can cook an entire pot roast from frozen in 45 minutes in an instant pot. It will do your soup in 15 minutes.

A lot of my trips are to long to bring everything from home.

With the price of gas in 2026 my trips may even be longer as I won’t bother going home for a day here & there.

I definitely want from home ideas to start the trip.

But resupply at Safeways & 24 hr Walmarts will be more often then not.
