Aftermarket tikka stock, which one you buying?

Currently in the process of ordering a Tikka T3x roughtech 6.5 and will likely be replacing the stock in the next year. I love the idea of a chassis (XLRor MDT), but have shot and used other carbon fiber stocks majority of my life. So I’m open to a more traditional style as well. Rostock has also peaked my interest. What stock do you like for the tikka? Any specific reason? Thanks!

I’m trying to figure out the same thing for a build. Current top contender is the peak 44 bastion stock. AG alpine hunter is also worth looking at.

I started with a mesa precision I think it changed names to pure precision now. I really liked that stock and would have been completly satisfied but ended up getting an HNT26 chassis for a really good price so switched over to the chassis.

I think you would be happy with either. If I hadn’t gotten such a good deal on the chassis I would have stuck with the mesa. There was nothing I didn’t like about the mesa just liked the feel of a chassis more.

I have a Peak 44 Blacktooth and Bastion and a Manners Eh1. I have also have used the Stockys sporter.

For a lightweight general purpose hunting rifle, I think my preference is the Blacktooth. I really like the weight and ergos.

For more of a long range type rig, I like the Bastion well enough… I wish it had some texture on the grip though, and a slightly longer grip.

The EH1 I would also use on a long range type. I find it is a little fat in the hands. It’s also much heavier than the Peak 44’s. I replaced it with the Bastion.

The Stockys is just ok. I replaced it with the Blacktooth. I don’t like its straight comb and its inletting is not as clean; factory or aftermarket bottom metal doesn’t sit flush. Also the forend is more rounded, which I don’t like.

All but the EH1 I had bedded. The Peak 44 have aluminum pillars which is nice.

For my style of hunting and therefore my preference of style of rifle, I lean to the Blacktooth.

I really really like the Bastion. Its cost-prohibitive for me at this point, but plan on doing it eventually. I agree the lack of texture is a bummer, but I've checked out a few Weatherby rifles with the Peak44 stocks and some of them WERE indeed textured.

That said, I have not yet handled/shot a Rokstock so my affection for the Bastion might be misplaced. In the meantime, the factory Tikka stock once free-floated, with vertical grip and cheek riser does just fine.

Rokstok or peak44 bastion for me. For shooting i notice the interface with grip and trigger finger more than anything else with a stock and these two are nicely executed among other aspects. They are nice stocks for shooting without being really chunky and cumbersome to carry.

Peak44 blacktooth if one wants a trimmer more traditional shape.

I have a rokstok on a 6.5 creedmoor tikka. For my 223 I will eventually get a bastion. Mainly due to weight and availability. If the carbon rokstok lites are truly light, I may consider one of them. My 300WSM shoots so well in its bedded factory tikka stock, it will likely never be changed.
