We flew last year and flying this year due to limited vacation. We had a couple processers lined up before our trip and called them just to talk about their rules. We packed my son's bull out two days before our flight and the processer had it cut and wrapped and partially frozen when we picked it up the evening before our flight. We bought cheap Coleman plastic 40 some quart coolers for 20 bucks a piece at Walmart. Packed coolers with dry ice and meat and weighed to keep right at 50 pounds. It's easy but costly and though the meat isn't aged it still ate up real good. Things to consider when flying meat. If you have connecting commuter flights on smaller airplane they only allow one cooler packed with dry ice per flight, so your meat may arrive on separate flights and the airlines will deliver when it arrives. So try and book flights on mainline aircraft. Sometimes paying more for first class tickets pays off because they allow more free checked baggage if you happen to kill elk.
