I am a Namibia guy, I think you will have more water there.
You can buy Courteny boots at the factory in Bulawayo if you happen to go there. If you are an odd size, they may not have anything to fit you. Don't buy elephant or another exotic, as you may not get them back in the USA. If you go to the Courtney website you will see there are stores that have them all over Zimbabwe.
The Courtneys are bloody hard to break in.
A friend was in Mozambique in one of the Coutadas last year. He used Hoka boots, had good luck, brought two pairs incase of thorns. The non-gore Tex model.
I wore gore-tex boots in August in Namibia last time and ended up buying a pair of canvas boots from a hunting store in Windhoek. When we switched from the Kahalari to the Khomas.
In the old Capstick days everyone wore running shoes. with no socks.
