Hey guys, I'm looking for an affordable rangefinder that will work out to 1000 yards. I've had Bushnell's and Nikons. they kind of suck at anything over 300 yards. any recommendations?

What’s the affordable price range?

There are decent options in the $300 range but double that can get you to excellent

Picked it up on a whim because it was so inexpensive -- and I mean inexpensive, think it only cost around $110 or so. But I've honestly been much more impressed than thought I would be by the Halo Optics XLR 3000. Rather shocked that the Halo outperforms my Sig Kilo. Maybe I just got lucky...

No chance the Ranger will be reliable out to 1,000y. I’m on my 3rd one thanks to Vortex’s “Various & Intermittent Problems” guarantee, and it has trouble on deer and steel past about 400y so it stays in my bow case.

The Razor 4K is pretty impressive though.

The Leica 1600b or 2000b here in the classifieds or eBay. You usually can get them in the $350+ range. Mine range the distance they state plus baro press, temp, and shot angle.

These would be way better than anything new in that price range. Leica's just work.

Leupold has been bombproof. 5 or 7 years now. no issue other than changing the battery once every other year or so.

This is the truth. My 20 year old Nikon Prostaff ranges better than my buddies Ranger.
