I’m flying from Kentucky to Idaho the last week of September. I’m planning on hunting unit 50. Any advise in flying with gear, meat, and hunting unit 50 would be greatly appreciated.

I hunted Idaho last yr only herd 1 bugle in 12 days and called him in 300 plus bull no shot passed on a cow calf . It’s hard hunting the elk are very spread out we averaged 7-10 miles a day found lots of fresh sign but the elk where quiet and sparse . The mountains are steep and times of blow down from the fires . Go have fun hope you have better luck than we did .

Hunted unit 50 last year. Elk are spread out and it is steep and deep. Heard bugles the first couple days then they were quiet. Tags may be sold out already though if you didn’t get one already. There were 255 left in the state as of last Friday.
