Advice on possible damage to scope from scope ring slipping

I have a Nightforce NX8 that I put in some Ruff Precision rings on my .308.

While shooting at the range today I noticed the magnification ring on the scope wouldn’t turn. I then noticed the scope had slipped forward in the rings and the magnification ring was pressing against the scope rail. Everything was installed to manufacture specs.

When I got home I took the scope off and found a little bit of an indent on the magnification ring from where it had hit against the scope rail and there is slight play in the ring forward and back that I’ve never noticed before or paid attention to if it was like that before. My question is, is this something I should worry about or should I contact Ruffs Precision or Nightforce at all or just get new rings and continue on if I have no further issues?

Probably be wise to contact NF and maybe send it back in for a ‘wellness check’. Get some NF rings too
I actually did order some Nightforce rings when I got home too, but I will also contact Nightforce about a wellness check as well.

It's probably fine but it wouldn't hurt to call & see what Nightforce has to say.
Did you degrease eeverything? I've never heart of Ruffs before. I typically use Nightforce, Seekins/Vortex or ARC.

I did degrease it. I first heard of Ruffs from a GoHunt podcast/video last year. I researched it and found nothing but good things about them and they checked all the boxes I was looking for. I am going to stick with Nightforce rings now though
