Curious if anyone has modified an Avail and added a sewn in water bottle- similar to what they have on their larger packs.
I like the look of the pack, but I prefer to have that option for a day/travel pack.
I also have the 5900, and that set up is what I was hoping to achieve, but maybe with a little deeper "pocket" for the water bottle/whatever else I want to stuff in there.I don’t have an avail but do have a 5900 with water bottle sleeves attached to the sides of the pack, not on the hip belt. The avail looks like it would attach a water bottle sleeve the same. Does it have to be on the hip belt?

A pocket style similar to the Kifaru Shapecharge would be pretty sweet on an Avail- just to have the option rather than having to use a camalbak or stuff your nalgene within the pack.
I didn't even think of adding a hydro holster to the hip belt, that could work. However, when I have used that set up on my Kifaru, I did not like how the weight from the nalgene pulled my hip belt downwards.

Yup, that would certainly work.I’m not talking about the side pockets on the 5900. I am saying attach a Nalgene holder to the outside of the Avail using the 2 side compression straps. Here is a pic of it on my 5900. You could also put a belt pouch on the other side of the avail for small quick access items.

How is it when you are hiking around? Pretty stable or floppy?
