I've been using a Fitbit Charge 2 for the last year and it's OK at best. I do a lot of gym workouts and the HR cuts out a lot. Also I'll feel myself maxing out and I'll only be at 130`ish when I know I'm at least 150.

I know a wrist monitor isn't the best but I expected better for $150.

Kind of looking at the Garmin Instinct. It's probably over kill for every day but for hunting it looks really good. How's the battery in GPS mode? Can you mark your location then turn the GPS off and back on again like a regular GPS to save battery and navigate your way back?

What about Sunnto?

I don't ever run outside and living on the prairie I don't get outside for backpack cardio. But it's really nice to be able to gauge how hard I'm pushing in the gym or how many cals I'm burning.

Thanks

I can’t help you with the trackers you’re interested in but I too have felt myself peaking and seen the watch tell me I am in the 115 range. I have found that if you look at the app on your phone later it will show what your peak is and I believe it to be about as accurate as my Polar heart rate monitor. The bummer is it isn’t real-time.

I've had the Garmin instinct for about a week and really like it. Still haven't figured it all out. I feel like the heart rate tracker is fairly accurate. Had it on the treadmill once, running about 12min/mile pace, and my heart rate was where I expected. Yes you can turn the GPS on and off, using it to just mark location, track, backtrack, or enter waypoint to go to. Battery life is excellent. Right at a week and haven't charged, but I also haven't used GPS much at all. The Garmin connect app gives you tons of information. And the watch will connect with an inreach if you use one. They're on sale for $250 right now at Amazon and Bass pro shops I see.

I have a Fitbit as well and have been wanting to upgrade to something better. I know one of the coaches at my gym has recently jumped on the whoop wagon and loves it. I've seen a few crossfit athletes speak of them highly as well. Seems like it stays out of the way, is completely water proof and tracks everything. I thought it'd be expensive but it's really not considering how much it does. The only downside is it's not really a watch. But if you just want an activity tracker I'd place my money on the whoop!
