Account Issues

However, this forum seams to have members with far thicker skin than most. I appreciate that, and the mods do their jobs well.

I cut my teeth on pirate4x4 back in the day before it became flaccid for some unknown reason. When someone would PM a mod about someone being mean, the messages were usually screen shot, the whiny B!t<h would be outted and everyone would point and laugh

Early forums and pre/post game COD lobbies really were different and arguably better times.

The death of every forum is when it becomes an full on echo chamber. Which is exactly why the forums rules exist to insure the same standards apply across the board.

Having differing opinions and purposely being obtuse aren't the same even if some people can't tell the difference.

The fact remains when the time spent moderating is higher than the value brought to the forum that member ceases to exist within the Rokslide community.

I will unfortunately be permanently banning this new account as having two logins violates the rules. Please note that ThorM465 temporary ban lasts until December 21st.

I've been on forums since the late 90's. In 25+ years, the only thing I've reported were scam/spam posts. As a mod and member of the board of directors I've had to deal with hurt feeling reports. Sometimes you feel like forums as a whole are just adult kindergarten classes. Pretty ballsy to make a new account to bicker about your old account being disabled.

As a former member of pirate, it was a great community until some members strived to be over the top rude and crude with every response. Many knowledgeable members stopped posting, and new members stopped joining. At that point, the forum was dead.

I think the staff here does a good job walking the moderating line. There definitely is a balance that sometimes bounces back and forth.

You mean instead of self reflecting on the “why was I banned” portion?
This is chicken noodle soup for my soul…everything was an attack on that poor lil fella.

One forum (was a locked private membership only fishing forum) we had people file lawsuits when they were banned (it was based in California) because it wasn't fair. They couldnt see that their behavior was unacceptable so being so wrapped up in their own selves, the filed a lawsuit because it wasn't fair. Most people can't self reflect because their entire life is built on lies they believe are truths.
