AB Raptor 375

Anyone with an AB Raptor 8 or 10 in 375 care to comment on the effect it has had on recoil for 375 H&H and similar? Looking to take the edge off shooting my 375 H&H and 9.3x62.

I have it and use on 375 Ruger. Hard to give a specific amount of improvement, but it helps a ton. Just decreasing the sound and blast makes the gun more shootable too.

I use one on most of my 35 cal’s. Never really compared recoil with it on/off. I know I do like them and even run one on my 360 Buckhammer pistol. They are pretty quiet cans. Had a hunting partner use one on a 358 jdj last year and he commented that it was quieter than he expected.

I have 8 stack with 5” reflex.

Another option is to have j sipp make you an OTB large caliber supressor. He made this one for my 416 Ruger. It’s 4.5” in front of barrel and 4.5” over the barrel. It also has a front brake to further decrease recoil. It works great.

I have the Raptor 8 in .375 and use it on my 375 H&H. Tames it nicely. If i ever get to Africa, ill be taking the can along

I run one on my .375 ruger. Makes a big difference. Feels about like a 30-06

I'd love to hear what you think of it once you get it. I bought a new rifle tonight (Tikka M690 in 9.3x62), so I will be in the market for a suppressor. The rifle needs to be cut down, so I am thinking of going with an 18" barrel and a .375 Raptor 8 or 10 with a 5" reflex.

Just seeing this and have no experience with the AB, however the TBAC magnus RR is amazing on my 375HH. Cuts recoil tremendously. Just adding more data for those interested in other 375 options.

This is on a M70 chopped to 20" and I'll add a pic later if I think about it.

I imagine the additional brake on the front helps significantly. Post up a pic of the rifle when you get a chance.

Following this thread for info. I finally got my 8 stack 375, but still need to get a barrel for it. Currently a toss up between 358 Norma Mag, 9.3-338 Win Mag, 35 Nosler, or 36 Nosler. Recoil is a consideration, if the can cuts it quite a bit I’m more interested in trying to tackle one of the Nosler options.

Got it out to the range today. It is a night and day difference (8 stack, 3” reflex). Huge reduction in noise and a pleasant reduction in recoil. Would highly recommend.

I was considering waiting to see if Airlock or Unknown would release a .375 caliber suppressor, but I decided not to wait. If they release one before next hunting season, it will probably be lighter than I want for everyday use for my 9.3x62 (but probably perfect for hunting), so I bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered the AB Raptor 10 w/ 5' reflex (the only one I could find in stock - and I like the 7.62 version I have). Now I wait...

You won’t be disappointed. I have shot one on a 35 whelen, 358 jdj, and 360 bh as well as a 6.5 cm. Worked well on all of them. I run DT, no reflex most of the time hunting and just run the reflex at the range.

My Raptor 8 .375 is back getting a reflex swap right now (it already made one round trip, but they installed the wrong reflex the first time). It’s dumb that they’ve allowed themselves to get in a legal position where a single reflex is “matched” to a suppressor and can’t be interchanged without sending it in (and spares can’t be purchased).

What’s even more frustrating is they won’t sell separate caliber endcaps for it. Seems very strange that other manufacturers have figured this out and they can’t.

I think I’m most interested to try it without the reflex on my 10” .357 Max contender barrel. I still plan on a threaded barrel for either my 9.3x62 or .358 Norma Mag, but am having a hard time convincing myself to thread otherwise mint Husqvarna 1600s. Maybe a Tikka gets rebarreled instead.

Mine had to go back as well. I swapped a 3” for a 5” and then noticed the 5” was only a .338, not a 375. Fortunately I was running it on a 30 cal at the time so no damage was done.

I believe they started out offering reflexes (?) and end caps, but the atf said those are a silencer. Dumb as they are not recorded and have no serial number, thus can’t be tracked. Also others sell end caps. More reason to remove regulations on silencers.

I have run mine on a 14” 360 bh pistol. Works well there too.
