AA headlamps?

Any good light AA headlamps? I do not want rechargeable or triple a batteries.
Zebra lights use AA batteries. They have performed really well for me over the last several seasons. Bright. Last a long time. Waterproof. Durable.

No rechargeables or AAA here. This eliminates the need to carry a charger or different size batteries.

I only use AA now. Same batteries for GPS, headlamp, and spot device. K.I.S.S.

I have a Fenix HL50.
Takes a CR123 and AA.
My GPS takes AA so there is redundancy both ways.
I can take spare AA's and have spare batteries for everything I carry.
Start having different batteries for this, that and the other and you end up carrying multiple types of batteries or relying on a single charger.

So, for an actual AA light, I like my Coast HL27. Looks like it’s discontinued, but it’s been reliable for me for a long time. I really like the rheostat for dimming the light and ability to adjust the beam pattern to match my needs. The HL7 looks like the successor.

Why do I bother with AA? Simple, I wind up with a lot of batteries from trail cams that are partially used. Letting them soak for long periods means they always get a fresh set, but there’s often a bunch of partially used ones.

The AA headlamp lets me use em up on low-risk efforts. I’m not at a lack of lumens for the vast majority of things, and the darn thing won’t die. A fresh set of lithium AA batteries will last me a week long elk hunt, but your mileage may vary.

I do own an 18650 light and I like it. If I were buying new and didn’t have a ready supply of AA batteries to use up, I’d go that route and look for adjustable beam pattern and variable brightness.
