Here are a few caribou photos from a north Brooks Range hunt.

I'll throw up a few more from this years early season backpack caribou trip. Caribou forum = way better than Turkey forum.

It was 43 hrs door to door weekend trip, with one overnight on the mountain. Lots of miles and elevation. We packed one out from 7 miles in, but no trophy photos, unless you count the incredible views.







The caribou were actually above the sheep. Not that unusual actually.

I do a winter hunt most years. If not for me, then I help out a friend. Usually, the weather looks like this:



But sometimes I get lucky, and it's like this 2011 solo hunt.



Other times, access to the mountains is challanging.



And when your friend shoots one down in a hole at dark, you end up packing them out in your daypack.



Good times, and ample opportunities where I live. I've shot one annually for a number of years now and assisted with many more.
