Last year was a year of ups and downs for me on several fronts, but things started coming together with this trip to Wyoming with my kids. We hunted with Backcountry Hunting Logistics and had a fabulous time while taking several nice goats. At the time of the hunt, I had lost 30 lbs, and while that was nice, it wasn't enough. I was able to do the stalk needed but was sucking wind so bad, that I was pretty lucky to harvest my goat. I missed the first shot, but he stayed put and I was able to get a good second shot off. Ironically, two of these bucks were shot within 100 yards of each other, just a day apart. With my new focus on getting healthy, I am now down another 71 pounds (a total of 101 pounds) and look much different even from when this hunt took place 7 months ago. Baby steps each day, but heading in the right direction.
