I think there is a thread or 2 about them in the 243, but don't know I have seen one for the 6 CM. I am sure there is a handful of us that got a few boxes with the last run sierra did... who has tested them in the creed yet?? Assume H4350 is going to be the go to powder. TMK's don't seem to be too picky to seating depth. What are we loading and how fast in what barrel length??

I’m using 43.5gr H4350 for 3,135fps MV, 18” barrel.

SWEET. I was using 3,000 in my calculator and getting about 700-800 max distance using 1800 FPS. 3100 would sure bump that safety margin up.

BC of 0.238 close enough?

Everything I have done with the 95gr TMK- four different barrels/rifles and out to 980 yards- has shown a .500 G1 BC.

I just put my PBB 16.25" barrel on and loaded this load to 2.680 and I'm hovering around 2975fps with 60 rounds on the barrel.

I made the brass from Hornady 6.5cm so I'm fireforming a wee bit in addition to seasoning the barrel.

DA is around 200 today.

What twist do you have on your PBB?

1: 7.5

I have a second barrel sitting too that's 1:7 that is supposedly a nicer barrel.

I'm going to beat on this PBB with pressure as a test barrel and switch over after I figure out this load and I'm going to make a slower load with H1000 or Staball HD to meet Quick Drop around 2775fps.

I'll take that light load hunting with my wife in 6mm minimum states and we can share the gun. My goal is to reduce recoil and calculate her drops in my head.

I’ve got a 18” 1:7 waiting to put on my action after the season. Haven’t seen much on the 1:7

Lot to be said for the quick drops. When my 6CM MRC arrives the plan is to match load it to the Tikka PBB 6CM (1:7 flutted from @hereinaz, shoots lights out w 109s), so I can have same elevation and wind calls for wife/kid/randos.

I need to step on the 95 TMK a bit, getting 2900fps at 41.5 gr, but recoil is nice and light.

Not pictured is the 95TMK (2.770 COAL ? , whatever Sierra book was). It was 1.2” for 10.

Yeah, the nice thing about all these long chambers that are popular is you can crank it out and fill it up with H1000.

The Sierra data page definitely says 2.770 COAL for this bullet.

Did you check your lands?

I checked my lands last night and the PBB barrel chamber is so long the bullets won't even stand up straight in the Hornady OAL gauge.

I was getting big groups with my first 100 but attributed it to dropping the stick H4350 with the Harrel's Precision dropper. I used Form's load at 2.680 and 43.5gr H4350.

I switched to ball powder, Staball 6.5 yesterday and groups are still bad. This is fire formed brass, FL sized, 1 pass with mandrel and I went to 2.770 w/ 45gr 6.5 Staball.

Did not check the lands. Tried 2.770 and 2.680 for 10 rounds each at 43.5gr (worked up to), 3030fps avg w 18" barrel. I think I was around 1.5" groups for both COALs. I might tinker with it more today, only bc I don't like my 22 CM loads and 6CM loads looking so similar with ELDMs.

Sounds good. 1.5" is all I'm looking for.

Current measures I'm taking:
- picked up new eye glasses
- will try 10 short drops and trickle up with H4350 tonight or tomorrow
- ordered some 112 match burners to try before I pull this barrel and put the other one on
- ordered one box of factory 108 ELD

Should know more by then.

109 ELDMs are shooting lights out for me.

Don’t think I’ll burn anymore TMKs in this barrel. I have 112 MBs and DTACs if I get bored.

95 TMK 2.820” COAL (still not in the lands w this barrel/chamber), but can’t really load any longer) 43.5gr H4350.

1.7” 10 round.

I’m not getting good results with H4350 and the 95s. I’m debating if it’s worth trying a different powder before giving up. Thoughts?

I’m getting 1.3” 10 round group with H4350 and the 112 MB. I’m also considering the Berger 105 and 108.

43.5 gr H4350? Damn what are you guys shooting for brass & primers? I’m at 42 gr and 2900 out of a 16.5” barrel but didn’t want to step on it too much. I guess the ceiling might be a tad higher than I had thought. I have Peterson w cci 450s.
