88 Grain ELDM jug Test

Well not a big thread and varying opinions. Killed just two deer with them myself. Not impressed though they shot well.

Thanks never saw that thread. I posted my results in the 223 for bear, deer etc thread.
It's all data. If it didn't work for you that is fine. Your finding might shed some light for the next person.

There are other threads. but it could have been the run of bullets that you got. Hard tellin not knowin.

I agree. Could even be the lot of 88 gr. ELDM's I have are especially thin jacketed. However they are so far the most accurate bullets I have shot in my 22 ARC and hopefully I will shoot a couple of raccoons and coyotes with it this summer. Thinking ugly exits.

Also. Several members on this forum, myself included, have experience with what 88 ELDMs do on animals if you’re interested.
I know and have read several of the posts. Kind of why I jug tested this bullet. As far as penetration goes the 88 mostly penetrated 12 inches of water. Game animals are 78% water with voids. I guess extrapolating it would mean that the bullet would travel at least 22% deeper in say a deer not counting the ease that lung tissue is negotiated by a bullet. At a minimum this means around 15 inches of penetration. exits being possible on broadside hits for deer and antelope. Probably going to use it in my 22 ARC and the 75 gr. Gold Dot in my 223. Can't imagine having any issues either way.
