Anyone have any experience w this round.
W laws tightening around here come July, I wanna see about a combo I don’t have and if I stay here won’t be able to get.

I am not sure if your still looking for info on the 8.6 Blackout, but wt I mainly know is what I seen online, and some locals that built their rifles, and I got to pick their brains! If you go on Youtube, "Grand Thumb" does a great review and testing on the round. Of what I am seeing, its an awesome "Hollywood Quiet" suppressed round, but it is also a very violent round, especially if you get the bullets that have cross sections formed into the bullets. They literally open up like a helicopters blades.

Personally if I could use it for deer, I would go 338 arc. Fits in an AR 15 instead of a 10. I am not convinced the extra rotation adds enough energy to matter. Having hunted with subs, I have had good luck with 205g to 500g, so I am not sure energy is all that important at sub speeds. If I need the penetration, I already have a 45-70 sub setup and it will have more energy than the 8.6.

The 8.6 BLK is unique in that it provides two guns in one. It can be a subsonic slammer with devastating ballistics due to 1:3 twist rate. Swap to supersonic, and you have a .308-class cartridge for longer engagements. I consider it one of the most innovative rounds ever created.
