From a paper stand point
Pros:
- Better SD’s on subsonic loads from having a lower case capacity than the 8.6BLK
- Fits in standard AR15 platform
- Should be easier to find commercial loads since it’s a Hornady product

Cons:
- Probably will still be scare to find on the shelf
- $1.90-$1.95/round
- PPC bolt face
- 1:8 Twist is spec’d out (might be a potential issue for some guys)

It’ll be interesting how this cartridge will perform with VLD’s at 280+ gr. or if it’s even possible. On paper it looks like you’ll have to seat right to the bullet ogive or seat the ogive into the case neck depending of bullet mfg. This may limit bullet selection to round nose or subx bullets. Until prints and tangible real world data are released, we can speculate.

The round itself seems only to have any practical use in an AR but at $0.96 per piece of hornady brass, reloading won’t be too much of a cost savings over buying factory loaded ammo.
