Hey guys, I'm going to load some 150gr ELD-X in my 7RM and want to use viht N160. I'm having difficulty finding load data for this combo and wanted to know if anyone has the max load data? I was thinking of starting around 60 grains and working up. Would love some resources or info on max powder charges or other recipes for this combo. Thanks for the help.

Never found much data for the combo. Ended up trying RL 17 instead with good results. I could start low and work up but with powder prices and difficulty finding it at my local stores I opted to save my N160 for a known load.

Never chrono'd the Eld-x so couldn't say. As far as fragmentation I wouldn't be too concerned unless I see real world problems. Haven't used the Eld on an animal so again can't make a comment about performance on that aspect.

62.5 grains N160 was max for me with Federal brass. My old barrel liked N165, but this one likes N160. I really like those 2 powders for 7RM, but case fill isn't the best.

Thanks for the info. Will have to try that out and see what happens. Did you settle on 62.5 or does your rifle like a lower charge?

Velocities were about 3050. Real max was more like 63, I settled on 62.5 for a node, accuracy was about 1Moa, maybe slightly under. I then started messing with other bullets and powders. My barrel is a 1:9" 25" shilen. My gun definitely shot the 150 eldx alot better than the 162's. Other powders that gave good accuracy were RL19, Ramshot Magnum, and I mostly use H4831sc now.
