Sounds like a cool cartridge!! I have a 375-338wm that my grandad built in 1960/61, a year or two after the .338wm was born, if I’m not mistaken. He called it a .375 shot magnum, not sure if he copied the Chattfield or not. Just something cool about old wildcats

He said the place that built it was on the corner of Virginia and Plum. Anderson was the last name of the guy who built it

I think the 338 win.mag must of came out around 55 or so. Randy had this gun built in 56-57 when he was a senior in highschool. He was running Cat dozer on a fire and got the money from that.

So the brass, the bullets, scope, rifle sling and other assorted things showed up today.

The reloading dies were made by RCBS and say 7mm belted Newton on top. Anyone ever heard of such a cartridge? Have any info on it?

I was wondering the same thing but from what I've gathered the 7 mm newton was not belted
