If you are going to build and want a 7 mm then a custom chamber for the 284 Win…plenty of premium brass and shoots great. Six creed same thing…I have both. I dumped the 300 win mag for a 6.8 Western. Brass availability isn’t as good though. With the newer high BC bullets, just don’t need to throw as much powder these days. Going with a smaller caliber is a wise choice. I am not a long range dude, I just don’t shoot enough. But, whatever trips your trigger.

I don't think I could ever give up the 300wm, first love and all. But a lighter caliber/gun will fill a niche for me and the fam for years to come, so it's coming... Just so many choices!

My 6.5CM gets shot and hunted with a lot more than my 300WM these days. Things seem to die just as fast and it’s a lot more pleasant to shoot.
