Greetings. Looking for thoughts and experiences on a 7 Sherman Short build. I only see brass for sale on the Sherman website and they’re currently on back order. Besides increased velocity and getting a high BC bullet to seat farther out in a true 2.950 short action magazine, is there other benefits that make this worth it?

I have one and it’s my favorite cartridge. The brass should be in stock in the next couple of weeks per the owner on FB a couple days ago. I’m shooting the 195 Berger at 2720 and the 175 Berger at 2850. Both could be run hotter but they shoot lights out at those velocities. I would highly recommend it. Very easy to find loads for also. I have 3 different powders I can shoot with the 175 and all shoot 10 shot groups well under 1”.

Nice! Do you have it in a true short action AICS length magazine (2.950)? I learned the hard way that certain calibers like 6.5 PRC and 7 SAUM fall into that weird space with seating depth and high BC bullets. If I was dead set on 7 SS, I’d plan the build around it, but I snagged an MDT CRBN in Remington 700 SA during their sale and I’d like to use it in NRL open light. I just don’t want a caliber that I won’t actually hunt bigger game with. The other direction is 300 WSM, but spotting my shots during a match would be a lot harder. I don’t know why I keep doing this to myself…😂
