7mm SAW, who has one? How do you like it?

I have a SAW from WTO,,,, got it 6 years ago when I lived in TX mostly hunting in box blinds in TX… rifle is on the heavier side for field carrying ((A3 stock, Barlein REM varmint contour 20” barrel) All in the gun is 12,5 lbs. Shoots 162 ELDX great at 2750 fps… Shot several TX whitetail, axis, aoudad and wild hogs with it as well as Steel out to 800 yards.

Fast forward to now that I’m living in Montana and Moutain hunting,,, just had WTO spin up a 6XC switchbarrel on a Tikka t3x platform @8,5 lbs…I’m shooting 103 ELDX with the 6XC and enjoying spotting impacts. Just shot a cow elk two weeks ago. 6XC is ballistic twin of 6cm,,, I much more enjoy carrying the lighter Tikka T3x in the mountains.

Both cartridges shoot great, but going forward 6XC will get more time outside of gun safe,,,

7SAW owner here 22” barrel and have had great success. From Tx whitetail with the 140vld to nilgai with the 162eldm and bull elk with the 131 hammer. N550/N555 with head stamp brass and br4’s has been fantastic. Running an ultra 5 to keep it short and knockdown recoil and sound. To be honest it does everything I have ever asked of it with great accuracy. Throw a 2-10 NXS on it and kill whatever you want. Only thing I would change is using a 20” barrel. Wife and kiddos 10-12yrs old have shot it without a complaint.
WTO has also built me a 22LRV shooting 85 Berger LRHT and 338 Lapua improved shooting 250eh. 7 saw is still what I grab first….
