Didn’t see one of these so figured I’d start one. Would like to get into 160 TMKs to hunt with if needed, but for now this is my newly builT NRL Hunter rifle. I’m pretty pleased with it.

21” 7mm SAW Type II
166 Hornady A-Max
Alpha Brass - Neck mandrel .282 but not resized
Fed 205M
41.0gr Varget

2593 fps

Last two 10 round groups before calling it good for next weekends match, total ES 11.5 SD 3.4.

Aim points were bottom left of small square and top left of big square. Adjusted zero 0.2 down after these.

I feel good about hitting targets next weekend, just gotta find em!

Good timing! I just spun up a new 7 SAW for hunting season.

18" PVA, 1-8" twist, 7 SAW type II, Tbac Ultra 7

I had a box of old 162 Amax and 154 SSTs that I used for a 100 round "break in". They both shot good with a thrown together load, sub MOA.

162 Amax at 2.245" CTBO
Virgin Alpha
BR4
41.5 grains of Varget
2590 fps SD 5.1

154 SST at 2.220" CTBO
Virgin Alpha
BR4
42.0 grains of Varget
2641 fps SD 5.0

With the once fired brass, I resized with the Hornady FL bushing die, .311 Redding bushing

Did a pressure/MV ladder with some hunting bullets I had on hand.
90 F with 52% RH

150 Nosler BT at 2.360" CTBO
Alpha, BR4
Varget
41.5 grain 2560 fps
through
45.0 grains 2815 fps (no obvious pressure signs)

140 Nosler AB at 2.320" CTBO
Alpha, BR4
Varget
42.5 grains 2689 fps
through
46.0 grains 2933 fps (no obvious pressure signs)

120 Nosler BT at 2.215" CTBO
Alpha, BR4
Varget
43.5 grains 2820 fps
through
48.0 grains 3132 fps
saw some slight primer flow beginning around 47.0 grains.

I'll probably play with some 150 ELDx, 162 ELDm, and 160 TMK at some point down the road.
