7mm SAUM H4350 Loads

I didn’t see much for load data results with H4350 so here’s my results from today.

7 saum, short action, 18” barrel, 100yds.

I’m liking the accuracy. Will check with chronograph next time.

I know this is an old thread but I have a 7SAUM being put together as we speak. Curious of what you found for velocity. I opted for an 18” inch but I can always change it to 20” if needed. Original plan was the push 162Eldx or 165TGK close to 2750-2800. From those with experience, should I go 20” instead?

I have and am running an 18". I haven't tried pushing velocity much as of yet but I think you may be close with your 18". I am running a light charge of H4831SC (55.0 gr) in mine with the 162 ELD-X and am getting right at 2500 fps. I think if you stepped on it a little bit you'd get there or darn close.

I would love to get there with 4831SC as I have about 15lbs of it, but I doubt that powder would do it.

I think it may take some experimentation but I think you'll get close with other powders. I'm also using a longer OAL and Medium action.

With 175 Elite Hunter I’m at 2650.

I have to figure out how to get more speed. I have 8# of N560 to play with. Hoping that will get me closer to 2800

560 should be good for more speed, though maybe at the cost of a little temp stability

Hey Gents, just thought I would throw this out there. Since making this post a while back I ended up moving on (in the 7 SAUM) from H4350 to H1000. Just for reference, in a 22" PROOF and H4350 I shot 168 VLDs at 2835 fps. Now I have a 21" PROOF shooting the same 168 VLDs at 2950 fps using H1000. H4350 is a great powder and super consistent for many cartridges. I just found that I hit pressure before seeing the faster speeds in my 7 SAUM.

For you guys trying to crank out speed in the shortys, H1000 may be the ticket.

With 168VLDh and 65.5gn H1000 and 18” barrel I’m at 2740.

Here’s my ladder with 180 ELDm and N560 from 59.0-61.7gn, 10 shots MV from 2555 to 2679. Not sure what max charge should be, never saw pressure.
